Zhang is a licensed acupuncturist.
Zhang is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in Lubbock and part of the research group for the West Texas Influenza Center at TTUHSC. Before joining TTUHSC in 2005, she served as an instructor and graduate assistant at Old Dominion University.
Zhang participates in multiple professional organizations including the American Academy of Health Behavior, American Public Health Association, HealthAcademy, Society for Acupuncture Research with the Texas Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
