Staff Performance Management
The Key to Ongoing Success: Performance Management
2011 Staff Performance Evaluation Process is Now Underway!
Don't delay! The new online Performance Management System for staff (non-faculty) employees at TTUHSC is available for input of Position Descriptions (PDs). Important dates to remember: The system will be available for completion of employee evaluations beginning December 15 and evaluations for 2011 (Jan. 1-Dec. 31) are due February 28, 2012.
Two key tasks to complete within the next month: In order to ensure that performance evaluations are completed in an effective and timely manner, PDs should be imputed into the PM system by December 15 and management teams should prepare for the evaluation process.
Educational opportunities: Thank you to all of you who attended the introductory trainings provided over the past several months. In addition to that educational opportunity, three additional modules (not mandatory) have been developed to educate and support supervisors on the process:
- 1) Keys to Effective Performance Management
- 2) Position Description Preparation
- 3) Hands On Course using the PM System
Again, the above modules are not mandatory, but rather, are available to provide supervisors additional education and tools to assist in managing employee performance. For increased learning, it is highly recommended that modules are taken in the order listed. Class schedules can be accessed by locating your campus site from the following link, http://www.ttuhsc.edu/hr/Training/. Also a pamphlet will be available on the HR website for all employees on how to prepare the Self-Assessment required in the evaluation process.
Thank you in advance! I am looking forward to seeing the benefits of the new system for each of you and the institution overall as this year's evaluation process is executed over the next few months. Any new process or system will undoubtedly have "challenges and learning opportunities," so your patience and positive spirit will be much appreciated.
