About Us: Endocrinology

Clinical Endocrinology is the field of Internal Medicine studying the diseases that cause abnormalities in hormonal function.  Most of these diseases are caused by abnormal function of endocrine glands such as the thyroid and parathyroid, pancreas, adrenals or pituitary.  In addition, there are several cancers known as neuroendocrine tumors that cause hormonal abnormalities.  Endocrine diseases such as diabetes mellitus and hypothyroidism are among the most prevalent diseases in humans and affect more than 10% of the American population.

At TTUHSC we specialize in the treatment plans for all types of endocrine diseases.  The treatment options can include lifestyle changes and medication.

We also use the Diabetes Education Center.
