“What I’m looking forward to most is continuing the successes established at the SOP Abilene campus and carrying forward the commitment and advancement of our profession,” Notturno-Strong said. “The atmosphere in Abilene is one of warmth and friendliness and I look forward to maintaining that environment, as well as advancing the relationships with our students, our faculty and the Abilene community.”
Notturno-Strong received her B.S. in pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and her M.S. in administration from Central Michigan University. She also earned an M.S. in pharmacy administration and an M.S. in health policy from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia.
In October, Notturno-Strong retired from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) after 24 years of service. She most recently served as commander of the 7th Medical Support Squadron and deputy commander of the 7th Medical Group stationed at Dyess Air Force Base (AFB).
Prior to her arrival at Dyess AFB, Notturno-Strong was stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio where she initially served as inpatient pharmacy flight commander at Wilford Hall Medical Center and directed the only Department of Defense bone marrow transplant pharmacy in the USAF. She later served as director for pharmacy operations at Lackland AFB and was responsible for the Air Force Medical System’s largest and most complex pharmacy operation.
