| Members Judy Barnes Oskam
Since joining Texas Tech in 1994 Judy has been honored with the President's Excellence in Teaching Award and the Ex-Students Association New Faculty Award. She was inducted into the Texas Tech University Teaching Academy in 1999 and was a 2000 Texas Tech University nominee for the Piper Professor Award. Oskam has directed various health, agriculture and safety public awareness campaigns and grant projects funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the United States Department of Energy, the American Cancer Society, The University of Texas System and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Before becoming a professor, Judy worked in public affairs/outreach positions for Oklahoma State University and The University of Texas System. Early in her career, Oskam was a television journalist for stations in Oklahoma and Texas. Several of her videos have won awards and recognition. Oskam has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/TV/Film from the University of North Texas, a Master of Science degree in Mass Communications and Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Oklahoma State University. Judy, her husband Felix, and their 3-year daughter Danielle Grace Wen live in Lubbock, Texas. They have been married 20 years. The Oskam family is anxiously awaiting the referral of their second daughter from China.
