Mission Statement
The Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness supports the achievement of the TTUHSC's mission by coordinating and facilitating ongoing, systematic, institution-wide planning and assessment. OIPE works with all facets of the institution to ensure that these planning and assessment processes reflect the TTUHSC's commitment to improvement of its academic, administrative, and educational support services.
Specific responsibilities of the OIPE include
- Promoting the advancement and integration of strategic and program planning at all levels of the institution;
- Providing information and technical expertise to assist academic, administrative, and educational support programs in developing and assessing student learning and program outcomes;
- Providing oversight and training on the maintenance of WEAVEonline, an online data management system for planning and assessment;
- Coordinating a successful reaffirmation process for the Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

SACS Accreditation
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, masters, doctoral, and professional degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. The Commission should be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support the institution’s significant non-compliance with a requirement or standard.
A member of the Texas Tech University System, TTUHSC has been accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as an institution separate from Texas Tech University since 2004. Reaffirmation of SACS accreditation for TTUHSC is scheduled to occur in 2009 and every ten years thereafter.
What's the Big Idea?
TTUHSC received big ideas from students, faculty, staff, and alumni on how to improve student learning at our institution. The QEP, or Quality Enhancement Plan, is a three- to five-year project that the University will develop as part of its reaffirmation of accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
