Participants Needed for Vascular and Exercise Study, $25 compensation

Men and women are needed to participate in research that will determine if vascular function differs between healthy Hispanic and non-Hispanic whites (Caucasians). Participants must be between 18-35 years old, non-smokers without diagnosed cardiovascular or metabolic disease, not taking hormonal contraceptives, not pregnant, no high blood pressure, no high blood levels of total cholesterol or glucose, and not obese.

This study involves 3 visits to the Exercise & Sport Sciences building at Texas Tech University. Measurements include a medical history questionnaire, blood pressure, blood cholesterol, blood glucose, vascular health measurements, daily physical activity, cardiorespiratory fitness level, and muscle force during exercise. Participants will be given a $25 gift card for completion of the study and will also receive results from tests (total cholesterol, blood glucose, and fitness level).
