- Speaker: Jane Nagy, MA
- Date: Wednesday, October 17, 2012
- Time: 12:00 noon

Jane Nagy is the wife of former ambassador Tibor Nagy. Jane served alongside her husband during his terms as U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia (1999-2002) and Guinea (1996-1999.) Over the years the Nagys have lived or worked in Zambia, Seychelles, Ethiopia, Togo, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Guinea. While living in Africa, Jane came to appreciate the lives of African women. As a result, she became committed to and passionate about women’s rights and the issues impacting African women.
During this presentation, Mrs. Nagy will speak about issues in Africa that affect or are affected by women’s health. The presentation will address issues such as women as property, the effect of the AIDS epidemic on the female population, and the education of women.
