iOS 7 and iOS 7.0.2 Release- UPDATE! 10/8/2013
October 8, 2013 At this time TTUHSC Systems Engineers continue to evaluate iOS 7 and 7.0.2 - users are encouraged to refrain from updating their Apple iOS devices to iOS 7 or above pending further notification
September 29, 2013 UPDATE!! ATTENTION: All iPad, iPod and iPhone users
The IT Solution Center continues to test Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod devices with iOS 7 for compatibility with our Exchange environment. In addition to conducting our own testing with iOS 7, TTUHSC IT has been monitoring reports from other institutions with Exchange email. Multiple organizations are reporting their users are unable to access their Exchange email accounts or calendars on their Apple devices after upgrading to iOS 7. Reports indicate that the effect is cumulative, meaning that the more iOS 7 devices attempting to access an Exchange email environment, the greater the connectivity problems. At this time, a resolution, or the cause for these connectivity problems has not been definitively identified.
In light of these reports, the IT Solution Center is encouraging all Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod users to refrain from upgrading their device to iOS 7. Upgrading to iOS 7 before a cause and resolution has been identified to these issues could prevent you from accessing your TTUHSC email account from your Apple iOS device.
iOS 7.0.2 has been released as well but does not appear to contain a resolution or fix for the reported issues with Exchange email. TTUHSC IT cautions all iOS users to refrain from undating to iOS 7.0.2 until it can be confirmed that this iOS update does not have an impact on Exchange email services.
TTUHSC IT will continue to monitor our Exchange email services for signs of compatibility problems as well as the status of those institutions reporting iOS 7 problems. TTUHSC IT will provide an update for this issue early next week. When a resolution for these issues has been identified, TTUHSC IT will post the results through multiple venues, including the institutional announcements page , digital signage, and the IT Solution Center Facebook page.
