Have you ever heard the word “Telemedicine?” Did you know that TTUHSC has one of the longest running telemedicine programs in the nation? Between 850 and 900 patients per month are seen via the telemedicine program at TTUHSC.
The TexLa Telehealth Resource Center and the F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health Telemedicine Department are hosting a Telemedicine 101 class from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at TTUHSC School of Medicine at Amarillo, 1400 S. Coulter St., to educate health care providers about how telemedicine is making the difference in patients' lives.
Physicians, clinical staff, faculty, staff and students interested in learning about telemedicine should attend to see the technology in action and learn about the benefits to patients who must travel to receive health care services.
