The Office of International Affairs (OIA) invites you to attend an ongoing lecture series on issues impacting global health. The lectures will be held every first and third Wednesday of the month at 12:00 noon CT. Invited guest speakers will share their personal stories and experiences. Everyone is invited to attend. Free lunch will be provided to the first 40 attendees (Lubbock campus only!)
Medical Mission to Zambia

Cynthia Hester, BSEd, RN has been a burn nurse since 1985, primarily at the University Medical Center Timothy J Harnar Burn Center. In May 2012, she had the unique opportunity to travel to Katete, Zambia to work exclusively with doctors and nurses who treat burn patients.
Cynthia serves as a national faculty member of the American Burn Association, teaching Advanced Burn Life Support nationally and internationally. She has been involved with International Outreach for The American Burn Association and Physicians for Peace since her retirement in 2009. She currently works as a resource nurse at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
