Lubbock Shoot for the Cure

Medical students will host the inaugural Lubbock Shoot for the Cure, Chili and Clay Charity Event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at the South Plains Gun Club, 910 County Road 130.
The event will include live music, food and tournament prizes.
Entry fee for skeet shooters including range fee and a free T-shirt is $48, general admission and T-shirt $24 and general admission $14. Both shooters and non-shooters are welcome to attend.
Skeet shooting is a recreational activity where participants use shotguns to break clay disks flung into the air at high speed from a variety of angles.
Prizes will be presented for first to third place in the skeet shooting competition.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the School of Medicine Student-Run Free Clinic, an urgent care clinic that provides free basic health care to the working poor and homeless population of Lubbock. The health care services are offered at no cost to patients.
