Mission Statement
The mission of the TTUHSC Amarillo Breast Center of Excellence (ABCE) is to provide state of the art comprehensive breast care program for the greater Amarillo area that includes multi-disciplinary cancer care, wide-ranging coverage of benign breast disease and care of healthy women that need screening and/or high risk management employing cutting edge management strategy through on-going education and research.

ABCE was the area's first comprehensive breast health program to receive a full three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. The accreditation allows our patients access to state-of-the-art treatment and clinical trials, ensuring residents of the Texas Panhandle receive the best care possible without having to leave home.
ABCE is a partnership between Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Northwest Texas Healthcare System and Texas Oncology Professional Associates. Together these three entities are dedicated to providing you a state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer institute without walls.

When you call the Amarillo Breast Center of Excellence, you will speak directly with a trained staff member who will schedule an appointment with a specialist within one week. Breast Cancer Facts
-According to the American Cancer Society, more than 230,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed this year, 39,000 women will die from the disease.
-All women of the age of 40 should have a screening mammogram once a year. Women in their 20's and 30's should have clinical breast exams as part of their regular health check-ups.
-Many conditions can cause lumps in the breast, including cancer. However, most lumps are caused by other benign conditions but should be discussed with a physician.
-Many studies show breastfeeding can decrease a woman's risk of getting pre menopausal breast cancer.
-There are two million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
