Sally wins silver
In her first Olympic competition, Sally Kipyego, B.S.N., (SON '09) placed second in the women's 10,000m with a time of 30:26.37Earlier this summer, Kipyego announced via Facebook that she had earned a spot on the Kenyan team and would be competing in the women's 10,000m and 5,000m races.

Four years ago, Kipyego told PULSE that she planned to compete professionally as a runner before beginning a career in nursing or returning to further her nursing education. She was a member of the Texas Tech University track team while she attended nursing school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
