Risk Assessment and Effectiveness of a clinician/community health worker "promoter" model
Demographics, physical activity, dietary habits, family history for chronic diseases, anthropometrics, blood pressure, ECG, fasting plasma glucose, and lipids will be obtained from volunteer migrant workers.
Subjects identified with chronic disease conditions will be referred for proper clinical care and for DSME and CDSME.
The role of “promoters” in risk- reduction for type-2 diabetes among migrant farm workers will be assessed.
