Welcome to the Office of Border Health. The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center established the office in El Paso in 1994 specifically to address the health care issues of the Texas-Mexico Border and of its citizens. Since that time, we have developed a diligent approach to health care issues:
- The recruitment of promising young citizens of the Texas Border Region to careers in the health care professions
- The development of outreach programs that improve the health care of citizens
- The study of policy issues that impact the role of Texas Tech in providing health care education to the citizens of Texas
- The enhancement of professional development of junior faculty at Texas Tech to improve performance outcomes and promote research
