Application and Procedures
To apply for a resident position, applicants should submit the following:
- Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement
- Completed TTUHSC application or ERAS application
- Official medical school transcript ( Notarized copy of original medical school transcript in the original language and official translation if IMG) if more than one medical school attended, copy of each original transcript should be provided
- Dean's letter from the medical school of graduation (and official translation if IMG)
- Three additional letters of recommendation (if the applicant has previous residency training a letter from the Program Director must be included as a 4 th letter of recommendation)
- Certified copy of medical school diploma (Notarized copy of original medical school diploma and official translation if IMG)
- Program directors letter if previous residency training in a U.S. residency program, with copy of all licenses/institutional permits held
- United States Medical Licensing Examination Certified transcript of scores
- Copy of United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) score sheets, Part I and when available, Part II and III ( Must pass steps 1, 2 and 3 within 3 attempts ), or
- Examination scores for NBME Part I and II, and FLEX
Note to international medical graduates:
- If the document is in a foreign language, an official word-for-word translation on official letterhead stationery must be provided. It must be prepared by a government official, official translation agency, or university official
- Current ECFMG certification required
- The exchange visitor J1 is the Visa accepted for residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
- Clinical Clerkship Affidavit
Candidates are selected through the National Resident Matching Program.
