Pediatrics Department
Letter from the Chairman and Program Director
Dear Future Pediatrician:
Thank you for your interest in the Pediatric Residency program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso. You will find that our residency offers an exciting and high quality education designed to meet the challenges facing future pediatricians in the midst of changing health care needs.
We take great pride in the success of our program, which has served El Paso for over 30 years. We are fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and continue to expand our clinics and resident community experiences.
Our approach to training is simple: a combination of intense, well-supervised, clinical experience working with a broad mix of patients and academic instruction designed to complement clinical training. Residents also manage patients in school-based clinic settings. Upon graduation our residents find excellent positions in primary care pediatrics or subspecialty fellowships.
As always, the essential component in making the program succeed is our facultys high degree of skill and their caring attitude. The residents and patients are the true beneficiaries of our Pediatric Residency program.
