Graduate Programs
El Paso students can benefit from a wide-array of classes offered through Lubbock’s Anita Thigpen School of Nursing but offered right here in El Paso at the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing Campus! The Master of Science in Nursing Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program (GNP) prepares graduates to assume the role of a healthcare provider dedicated to improving the health of the elderly. Geriatric Nurse Practitioners serve the elderly and their families in an extensive range of practice settings. The services of Geriatric Nurse Practitioners focus on health maintenance and disease processes that are specific to the elderly. The GNP is an online program that requires occasional travel to the Lubbock campus. Currently, applicants must still go through the School of Nursing at Lubbock. Contact information can be found below. Some tabs and hyperlinks may re-direct you to the Lubbock site.
A Post-Masters Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate is also available to those who currently hold a Master of Science in Nursing and wish to assume a specialized role in the health care of the elderly.
Upon completion of course requirements, graduates of the Masters and Post Masters Programs are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam.
