Dr.
Reid specializes in cell growth inhibition and acceleration, focusing on the
biochemical mechanisms of ocular cell growth. Potentially, his
research may lead to the use of growth factors to treat ocular wounds and
drugs to control abnormal cell growth. Dr. Reid received his doctorate
from the University of California, Los Angeles, completed a National
Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado,
and was a visiting fellow with the Imperial Cancer research Fund in London.
Dr. Reid served on the faculty at Yale and as director of ophthalmic
research at the University of California, Davis. He has joint
appointments in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology and serves on the
Western Eye Research Conference (WERC) board of directors. Dr. Reid joined the faculty in
1990. |
