About the Department

Angie Martinez, M.B.A. received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She obtained her Masters in Business Administration from Webster University in Saint Louis, Missouri. Prior to coming to Texas Tech University Health Science Center at El Paso in 1996, she worked for the El Paso Independent School District as a long term substitute teacher and at the University of Texas at El Paso as a recruiter.
Throughout her career at Texas Tech University HSC-El Paso, she started working at the Department of Pediatrics prior to working for the Department of Border Health, as an Education Coordinator. She later returned to the Department of Pediatrics as the Associate Director for the Residency Program. In 2005, she accepted her current position as the Clinical Administrator for the Department of Anesthesiology.

  - Involves preoperative, intraoperative & postoperative care for each patient
- Labor & Delivery (L & D) Suite
  - Provision of analgesia services for vaginal delivery
  - Anesthesia care for surgical cases in L&D
  - Care for approximately 2800 cases annually
