CA-2
This 4-week rotation for CA-2 residents in anesthesiology introduces indications, techniques and complications of acute pain management. There are two pain management rotations in the curriculum: one 4-week rotation for the CA-2 year and one 8-week rotation for the CA-3 year. The residents are expected to increase their degree of autonomy throughout the rotations in second and third year, to finally achieve skills for acute pain management for independent anesthesiology practice.
CA-3
This 8-week rotation for CA-3 residents builds on their knowledge of acute pain management and regional anesthesia gained during regional anesthesia rotation in the CA-1 year and acute pain management rotation in the CA-2 year. The residents are expected to increase their degree of responsibility throughout the rotations in second and third year to achieve skills for acute pain management sufficient for independent anesthesiology practice at graduation.
