Dr. Ahmed E. Badr graduated from Tanta University Medical School in Egypt. He received his post graduate training in Tanta University, Cairo University as well as Vanderbilt University Hospitals. Dr. Badr is fully trained in Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Pain Management and Critical Care Medicine. He served as a Professor of Neurosurgery and Anesthesiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for the past 10 years before he decided to join TTUHSC this year. Dr. Badr is charged with building the Anesthesiology Department and The Neuroscience Center of Excellence.

The Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is one of six schools that make up the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC).Texas Tech University System. The President of TTUHSC reports to the Chancellor, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the System. The Chancellor and the President are responsible to the Texas Tech University Board of Regents, which sets overall policy for the Texas Tech University System, Texas Tech University, and TTUHSC.
