Dr. Gallegos has eight years experience working as a television news anchor. She left her news anchor position at the ABC affiliate in Denver to pursue a career in school public relations at the Denver Public Schools. She was Assistant Director of Public Information for the 72,000 student district before working directly for the Superintendent as his Special Assistant. Dr. Gallegos and her family then returned to her hometown of El Paso, Texas. She began working on her doctorate in Educational Management and Development at New Mexico State University where she successfully defended her dissertation “A Case Study of Urban School Administrators and the Television News Media in a School Choice Environment,” in 2007. Dr. Gallegos joined Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine as the Senior Communications Director on December 1, 2010.

Ms. Williams currently serves as the Associate Director of Communications & Marketing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a minor in Sociology from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1991. She has 19 years of experience in the field of communications, including television production, videography, desktop publishing, and public relations. She has been published in Hispanic, Moderna and Proud magazines. Patricia is an active member of the Public Relations Society of the Southwest, Advertising Federation of America, YWCA Momentum Leadership Institute, and Habitat for Humanity.

Ms Ruley currently serves as Associate Director for Communications & Marketing, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. She has 28 years of public affairs and communications experience, ten years of that as a soldier in the U.S. Army. She is a graduate of numerous Army professional schools and leadership courses and served for two years as a photojournalist for the Army Trainer, a military magazine covering world-wide Army training. Lisa has also written for Army and Air Force newspapers both stateside and overseas. Ms Ruley holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Psychology from Park University, Parkville, MO. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of the Southwest, Advertising Federation of America; and a Board member of Habitat for Humanity and the Foster Grandparent Program of El Paso. She also volunteers with the El Paso Homeless Veterans Burial Program.

As the Senior Graphic Designer in the Department of Communications & Marketing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso, Ms Widby brings over twenty years of experience in the field of graphic design with recognition by the Advertising Federation of El Paso for her award winning work. Her wide range of experience includes photography, illustration, web publishing, and packaging. She has created packaging for major national companies including Target, Kmart, Costco, Sams, Sears, and Linen & Things. Her local accounts have included El Paso Electric, Charlottes Furniture and Peter Piper Pizza. Ms Widby is a member of the Advertising Federation of America and Public Relations Society of the Southwest.

Ms Valenzuela is the Unit Coordinator for Communications & Marketing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. Her primary responsibility is to coordinate and oversee the day-to-day detail of various functions and aspects of the Department.. She handled the front office for a number of prominent physicians and worked at the County Courthouse in the County Clerk’s office for three years. Ms Valenzuela is currently attending The University of Texas at El Paso earning her degree in Communications/Public Relations. She is a member of Public Relations Society of the Southwest and the Advertising Federation of El Paso.
