Emergency Medicine
Application Process
All applications are received through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service), with the process beginning each September. Documents required in an application are: The Common Application Form, Personal Statement, 3 letters of recommendations, Deans letter, medical school transcript, board scores (USMLE, COMLEX, etc) and CV. Due to the fact that Texas Tech University will not allow anybody to begin training until they have passed USMLE II CS and CK or the equivalents of the COMLEX, we will be very hesitant to rank a student who has not taken these exams.
Interviews begin each November (after the Deans Letter is received) and go through the first week of February. The deadline for receiving applications is December 1. Our interview days are Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Lunch and a tour of the ED are included in the interview.
