Welcome

The Division of Hematology/Oncology is within the Department of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), The Paul Foster School of Medicine, and the University Medical Center in El Paso. It is an urban based program and is solely focused on the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer. We are committed to excellence in patient care, working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with other institutions in our research efforts.

Our mission is to provide cancer patients in El Paso with State-of –the Art cancer care, here at home and access to potentially groundbreaking research and clinical trials. Dr Nahleh, is the recently appointed chief of the division” Our goal is to ensure that the citizens of El Paso have a top cancer program available to them that can provide all of the clinical services and research opportunities they deserve, as well as foster education and first rate training of medical students residents and soon fellows, as well as develop community outreach programs.”

Our plan is to work, alongside our partners and colleagues in the community, to disseminate latest information about cancer, raise awareness among the public, dissipate myths and misconceptions about cancer and clinical trials, and grow our clinical and research efforts to make a difference in people’s lives through quality service and research. We believe our newly established programs will allow cancer-related health concerns in our El Paso and border community to be addressed.

Our goals can be summarized as follows:
