Department of Neurology
Overview
The Department of Neurology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Paul L. Foster School of medicine was founded in 1976 to provide training to medical students and residents. It also served patients in the region with neurological conditions.
The curriculum of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine provides students with extensive training in neurology throughout their four years in medical school. Neurology faculty also trains residents specializing in internal medicine, family practice, psychiatry, and pediatrics.
Patients with a variety of neurological conditions are seen daily in the outpatient clinic located at the El Paso Psychiatric Center located on campus.
Since 1990, the department has had an Epilepsy Services contract with the Texas Department of State Health Services and has operated an uninterrupted, expanding and successful epilepsy program for El Paso and Far West Texas.
The Department continues to collaborate with several entities in the community including the University Medical Center, El Paso Sleep Center, El Paso Psychiatric Center, and Sierra Medical Center.
Patient Care

Texas Tech Physicians (TTP) brings together the largest network of physicians and health care professionals in West Texas. Because our physicians are also teachers, they remain up-to-date on new treatments and diagnostics, not only to care for their patients, but to pass that knowledge on to resident physicians, physicians studying in fellowships and medical school students. This means our patients receive the quality healthcare they deserve.
TTP Department of Neurology offers treatment to adults for a multitude of conditions including:
