El Paso, Texas is a great place to live. Spectacular sunsets and mountains rising to 7,000 feet create beautiful sceneries. With 350 days of sunshine, El Paso's temperate and dry climate is ideal for outdoors enthusiasts. Throughout the year, there is golf, tennis, biking, hiking and other outdoors activities. Within a short two hours drive are New Mexico's Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Gila Cliff Dwellings, White Sands National Monument, Elephant Butte lake and the resort areas of Cloudcroft and Ruidoso where winter skiing is outstanding.

Residents and faculty have the opportunity to practice in a multicultural community, specifically one with a significant Hispanic population.  Our program prides itself on being the only comprehensive Texas-Mexico border training program in the nation.  This permits for a diverse patient population which is accompanied by a wide array of all-encompassing cases that are unique to the physician in training.
