Department of Radiology
Residency Application Process
Thank you for your interest in our Radiology Residency Training program. I am pleased to let you know that we will be accepting applications for July 2012 starting September 1, 2010. Applications will be accepted through ERAS only; our deadline is December 31, 2010.
All Applications Must Include:
- USMLE/NBOME scores for Steps 1 and 2. NOTE: If you are a multiple exam taker, there should be no more than 3 attempts at achieving a passing score for each Step , with a 4th attempt permitted on ONE Step only;
- A letter of recommendation from the residency program director, as well as a final summative evaluation for the PGY-1 preliminary year;
- Three letters of reference;
- Personal statement;
- Medical school transcripts. NOTE: international transcripts must be translated and notarized;
- ECFMG Certificate, if applicable;
- Curriculum Vitae. NOTE: There should not be "gaps" in training or work since graduation;
- Recent Photo;
- Although the program does not have pre-established criteria for the date of medical school graduation, we do evaluate each application as a whole; candidates who graduated from medical school more than two years ago should reflect evidence of meaningful, ongoing continuing medical education in their application; and,
- Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center only sponsors the J1 visa. Priority is usually given to US citizens who are international medical graduates and who can qualify for full privileges at the program’s affiliated institution, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, at which the required nuclear medicine rotation occurs.
Our department does not offer observerships or externships.
Applications will only be accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). We are unable to accept telephone, paper, or email applications.
