Theresa Byrd, RN, Dr.P.H. is Associate Dean and Chair of the department of Public Health at TTUHSC. Previously, she was Professor and Course Director of the Society, Community and the Individual course at the Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center, Paul L Foster School of Medicine (PLFSOM). Before moving to the PLFSOM, she was at the University of Texas School of Public Health (UTSPH) for 20 years.
She lived over 20 years in El Paso and has spent
most of her career working with US-Mexico
border and migrant populations. Her research interests are in cancer screening and prevention, especially in the area of cervical and colorectal cancer.
