Biography

Zuber D. Mulla, Ph.D., is Associate Professor (tenured) and Director of Epidemiologic Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of South Florida College of Public Health in Tampa. Dr. Mulla’s past research interests have included invasive group A streptococcal infections and necrotizing fasciitis. His current research interests include preeclampsia, cervical cancer, and anaphylaxis. He provides research support to OB/GYN faculty and residents. Dr. Mulla has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and is the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award from the El Paso Regional Campus of the University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston. Dr. Mulla is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He is certified by the National Board of Public Health Examiners and is currently a co-investigator on an NIH National Cancer Institute P01 grant dealing with the development and testing of a multispectral digital colposcope.
