Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences


We welcome you to the TTUHSC El Paso Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, where we provide a wealth of opportunity for students to develop their interests and prepare a base of knowledge and experience to pursue a successful career in biomedical research and education. Our program's mission is to educate the next generation of scientists and health-related professionals in a dynamic and productive research environment that fosters creativity and discovery.
In order to facilitate our students in finding solutions to today's most urgent health concerns, our school is organized in four programmatic Centers of Excellence: Cancer, Diabetes and Obesity, Infectious Diseases and Neuroscience. We also have four state of the art core laboratories in histopathology, cytometry, genomics and proteomics that currently support the work of multiple scientists with NIH funded programs. Our scientists are energetically exploring the dynamics of cancer endocrinology, cancer cell biology, natural product-based therapeutic discovery, HIV, West Nile Virus, Influenza, nanomedicine, movement disorders, population genetics of psychiatric disorders, degenerative neurological diseases, and genetics of the special senses.
The El Paso campus currently offers the Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. Doctoral programs are available through our main campus in Lubbock, Texas, with opportunities for research experience and dissertation on the El Paso campus.
