SABR Internship

Welcome to the Summer Accelerated Biomedical Research (SABR) Internship Program. Our purpose is to give undergraduate students the opportunity to experience life as a scientist.  Our past experience tells us that many of you will go on to graduate school and a career in research. We will pay you a stipend of $3800 for the summer.

So what will your summer be like as a SABR Intern? Check out the Calendar link to see what we have planned for the summer. You will be assigned to a mentor who will give you a project that you can complete during the summer. At the end of the summer you will present your work in a 10-minute talk, just like at a national scientific meeting. We also plan a series of lunchtime seminars to help give you an overview of life in science. Finally, you will also receive laboratory safety and radiation safety training.  The certificates that you will receive from this training can be used to prove you had the training in your future career.

I look forward to meeting you in June. By the way, admission is competitive so get your application in early. Please feel free to contact potential mentors whose research you find interesting.  Personal contacts can give you a leg up.
