Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. I invite you to learn more about the opportunities available to our students and faculty by browsing through our site and viewing our program information.
The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences awarded its first master of science degree in 1975, and its first doctoral degree in 1978. Today we offer programs leading to M.S., Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D.
Our graduate students come to us from around the world, and we are committed to providing graduate study opportunities for a diverse community. Our graduates obtain successful careers in universities, in industry, and in other research environments.
I hope you have the opportunity to visit our campus and talk with students and faculty about your area of interest. Choosing a mentor is a critical part of a successful graduate career and taking the opportunity to visit a potential mentor's laboratory is essential.
In addition to opportunities for study and research, West Texas offers a high quality of life with many opportunities to participate in concerts, sports events, and to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle of the High Plains. I hope that you will consider shaping your career and your life at TTUHSC Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
