Students in the PhD RS program select academic and research emphases to develop customized areas of expertise within their concentration. The chosen emphases will guide selection of the faculty advisor/mentor, advisory committee members, coursework, comprehensive qualifying examination topics and research/dissertation focuses. Students should choose research emphases that are supported by their selected academic emphases and that are consistent with the interests of their faculty advisor/mentor. The academic and research emphases offered in the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and Movement Sciences and Disorders (MSD) concentrations are shown below.
