Techlink Video Network Request
* NOTE: Please refer to the section entitled ADDITIONAL INFORMATION for further instructions.
Broadcast events are scheduled to provide a 10-minute break between consecutive events. This insures the Video staff has sufficient time to reconfigure classroom equipment and verify network audio levels prior to the next event.
The outcome is that a 1-hour event typically begins on the hour and includes 50 minutes of broadcast time. Events of greater duration (2, 3, and 4 hours or longer), will typically begin on the hour and end 10 minutes prior to the end of the last hour of the event. For example, a 2-hour event beginning at 2:00pm will end at 3:50pm; and a 4-hour event beginning at 8:00am will end at 11:50am.
NOTE: If a full hour, 2 hours, etc. is needed for an event, it is essential to include this information in the area entitled Exceptions or Special Instructions. Having this information in advance helps the Video staff minimize the impact on events that follow.
The Originating Site is the room where the presenter will be during a TechLinked event. Participants at all other included locations will see the Originating Site full-screen at their location. Please choose the Originating Site from the drop-down menu of originating sites in the section entitled Sites To Be Included. NOTE: There are two exceptions that may apply from time to time as follows:
- Origination Changes: If your event will include presenters at more than one location, an Origination Change will be required prior to each presentation. In this instance, please refer to the area entitled Exceptions or Special Instructions and list each site where a presenter will be featured. (Please include the order of the presentations if known.)
- No Originating Site: If you prefer that participants at all sites included in your event be able to see each other at all times, please choose NONE from the drop-down menu of originating sites in the section entitled Sites To Be Included.
Audio and Video From a Personal Laptop PC or MAC
Special setups are needed to use your personal laptop computer with the teaching podium and video network. If you need this type of support, please check the appropriate boxes in the section entitled Presenter Needs. A member of the Video staff may ask for your laptop computer in advance of your scheduled event to configure and connect it to the teaching podium. Your cooperation will help to prevent problems that can occur with last-minute setups and insure that your event begins on schedule.
