Office 2007 Features
- The Office Button - Replaces the File menu from earlier versions of Office. It contains the commands to perform basic functions applicable to the entire document - such as creating, opening, saving and printing documents. In addition, the Office Button provides you with quick access to recent documents.
- The Ribbon - Replaces the menus and toolbars from earlier versions of Office. It is a strip on the top of the screen and contains all the commands logically grouped under tabs. The name of each tab indicates the type of commands grouped under the tab. For example, the Page Layout tab contains commands to edit the size, page orientation and margins of a document.
- Galleries - Collections of thumbnail graphics that enable you to view the results of a formatting change without actually applying that change. Various tabs on the Ribbon contain galleries specific to the tabs.
- The Quick Access Toolbar - Provides access to frequently-used commands, such as Save, Undo and Repeat. You can customize the Quick Access Toolbar by specifying the buttons that you use most often.
- Enhanced Screen Tips & Help - An enhanced version of the Screen Tips from earlier Office suites. They appear when you place the mouse pointer over a button and offer a description of the function of the buttons and provide a direct link to Help for that button.
