Creating & Managing Assets

Creating an Asset

To create an Asset, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Content > Assets.
    Assets Dropdown Selector
  2. Either click on the dropdown arrow or click on New.
    Create New Asset
  3. Select the type of Asset.
    Asset Types
  4. Complete the Asset Creation and Save the Asset.

The fields for Asset creation are:

Asset Name - Friendly name that will be displayed through the whole system.
Description - Brief description of what the Asset does or is.
Lock to Site - Select the checkbox to limit the Asset to be available only on the current site. By default Image Galleries are only available to the site on which they were created.
Tags - Words used to categorize the Asset. These are used for searching for Assets when in Content > Assets, as well as when inserting an Asset on a page. Currently configured tags will be suggested as the user begins typing.
Asset content - Contents of the Asset.
Content editable by - Defines which group can edit the content of the Asset.

Note: Some tags keywords have been predefined at the system level. These tags can be used in addition to any keyword tags of the user's choice. The following is a list of the predefined tags: Image, Text, URL, Link, Name, Address, Media, Include, Script, Email, Phone, Date, Quote, Document, PDF, OU_Asset.

Note: Depending upon the Asset type, other fields might be available.

Adding Additional Tags

Tags can be added to an Asset during creation or editing. These tags can later be used to filter the listed Assets. To create a new tag, start typing a new term and enter a comma or click on the Add {search term} bar that is displayed. Tags can also be defined to limit the results in an Asset Chooser when used in a TCF, editable region, or MultiEdit region.

Important Note: Now that the Asset is created, it can be inserted into pages. However, an Asset will not render on the Production Server until it has been published.
