Luminis Content Management System
You hold the key to your website content with the Luminis Content Management System (LCMS)
The web content management system currently in use at the Texas Tech University System is the Luminis Content Management Suite, which works in conjunction with the portal features of the Luminis Premier from higher education software vendor Sungard HE. Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center have teamed up with SunGard as part of the ConnecTech initiative to bring the Luminus Content Management Suite Enterprise Edition in order to preserve the institution’s look and feel across all Web information pages. With LCMS, users are able to make changes, add and delete content without having to rely on Information Services to make the requested changes for them. Now, those most responsible for content deployment will have the means to edit and publish their most current information as the need arises.
Identity/Branding
Luminis CMS allows TTUHSC to create templates that ensure a consistent presentation format on the pages. From the templates, layouts are built for each area, following Texas Tech University System brand standards and established web identity guidelines. If a template or layout is changed, all of the web pages that use it will be automatically updated without having to change each individual page.
Efficiency and Timeliness of content updating
LCMS uses document workflows, which automates the task of publishing updated content. By creating workflows for the review, revision, signoff and verification process, not only are we improving efficiency, but creating an environment where Schools and Departments are empowered. Once all signoffs are provided, the workflow posts the changes automatically to the correct publishing server. Structuring LCMS using separate workgroups allows the users to have control of the content that they are the most familiar with. This makes it much easier for people to work together to develop informational web content for their areas.
Quality Assurance
LCMS requires manager approval on all pages and objects edited or created before it becomes active on the live web site. In addition, LCMS content management lifecycle provides the ability to identify and notify users when a web page is about to expire, giving them time to go in and update the content. This results in regular updates of the websites.
