Mrs. J. Avery “Janie” Rush Endowed Chair in Women’s Health and Oncology
A $1.3 Million Dollar Endowed Chair was established in 2006 to contribute to the growth and excellence of the established TTUHSC Women’s Health and Oncology research and clinical programs. Areas of high research interest for the Rush Endowed Chair include breast, ovarian and other gynecologic malignancies.
ASCO Endowed Chair of Excellence in Women’s Health
A $1.5 million Endowed Chair was established in 2007 to be the second endowed chair in Women’s Health at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Amarillo. This chair will provide funding to recruit and retain a physician researcher and educator to promote research, education and community outreach in women’s health.
Women’s Health Fellowship
The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health has a one-year fellowship that emphasizes the the prevention and treatment of diseases unique to or more prevalent in women. The fellowship offers opportunity for procedural competeny in endometrial biopsy, colposcopy , cystometrics , and other office gynecology procedures (bartholin cysts, vulvar biopsy, etc.)
Each Women’s Health Fellowship is responsible for designing and implementing a clinical research project and for presenting and publishing the results of this project. This is accomplished with the aid of a selected research mentor.
