Executive Director's Message

"We are indeed privileged that Laura W. Bush has given her name to our endeavors."
I am honored to be serving as executive director of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Heath at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
In 2000, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center turned a need for women’s health knowledge into a reality that would grow into a premier research and educational outreach institute. TTUHSC faculty expertise has been instrumental in developing research programs and bridging medical school departments, schools and other regional institutions of higher learning. This institute is creating partnerships across disciplines and communities, between health care providers and patients, researchers and clinicians to bridge the gap between research and the patient.
We are indeed privileged that Laura W. Bush has given her name to our endeavors, and we look forward to the accelerated expansion to all our campuses because of her strong advocacy for women’s health.
TTUHSC has campuses in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas, El Paso, Lubbock and the Permian Basin. Our mission is to cultivate the advancement of multi-disciplinary science in women's health and to promote the well-being of women through research, education, and clinical outreach. The impact of integrating our research with faculty and researchers from across the Texas Tech University System is making an impact on women’s health across West Texas, the nation and the world.
