TTUHSC Electronic Books
G-M
The Libraries of the Health Sciences have purchased access to more than 38,000 electronic books for the use of faculty, staff, and students of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Only a limited selection of titles are available through the four alphabetic e-book lists. Thousands of additional titles are available from ebrary and NetLibrary.
ebrary offers e-books from the world's leading STM and academic publishers. The TTUHSC Libraries have purchased access to these e-book subject databases: Life Sciences (includes Biotechnology, Agriculture, and Environmental Studies) [over 2,400 titles], Medical [over 1,500 titles], Nursing & Allied Health [over 1,800 titles], and Physical Sciences [over 1,700 titles]. These collections overlap only slightly.
These books may be accessed by clicking on the ebrary logo. Most are also available from the Library Catalog.
The TTUHSC Libraries are members of TexShare, a cooperative program of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. As a result, TTUHSC faculty staff and students have access to NetLibrary. "More than 27,000 eBooks are available for browsing, searching, and virtual check-out. TexShare's eBook collection includes titles from the world's leading business, technology, trade, reference, academic, and scholarly publishers."

Description: "Invaluable reference for everyone interested in herbal medicines and their uses.
"While the use of herbal remedies has dramatically increased, the availability of factual information about such substances has not. Herbal products are not regulated in the same manner as drugs, so credible, proven data about them is scarce. Herbal Medicines: A Guide for Health-Care Professionals, published by the Pharmaceutical Press, London, UK, presents fully referenced information to assist with the identification, application, safe use, and assessment of commonly found herbal medicines. Its quick, easy-to-access content addresses pharmacological actions, side effects, contraindications, and safety and efficacy issues."
