Laura W. Bush Institute at Amarillo: Research

Dedicated to the advancement of science in women's health

Whether it is the disease, the treatment, or prevention,
it matters whether you are a man or a woman.

We must research these differences and apply the knowledge gained to clinical care. By pooling the resources and expertise from among the many organizations in Amarillo, as well as the esteemed faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the potential for national prominence and excellence in research, teaching and clinical services for women's health remains within the grasp of this community.

Amarillo Research Initiatives...

  • Endowed Chairs

The institute is proud to host both the Mrs. J. Avery "Janie" Rush Endowed Chair of Excellence in Women's Health and Oncology, as well as the ASCO Endowed Chair for Excellence in Women's Health. These two endowed chairs have been graciously donated by the J. Avery Rush family and the Wright family & ASCO employees, respectively, and are just two more examples of the role community partnership plays in the success of the institute.

  • Summer Internship Program

The LWBIWH supports and encourages the early research efforts of those young adults that are looking to go into the medical field. Whether the student is interested in the clinical or research aspect, this program is designed to give each one a unique and invaluable hands-on experience. Summer Research Internship
