Building within West Texas, the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health is uniquely positioned to finding better ways to educate, diagnose and treat women of all ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds, because good health should not be limited by such boundaries. The LWBIWH strives to establish not just another women's health institute, but a women's health institute that pioneers clinical, research and educational programs in rural, diverse, and underserved populations.
Permian Basin Education Opportunities
In 2010-11 a partnership with Midland Academy Charter School was formed. Texas Tech Physicians provide onsite scientific healthcare presentations to eighth grade students. The LWBIWH will continue to seek out these partnerships with local schools in order to provide students with a health curriculum that is both scientific and prevention based.
