Magazine gives TTUHSC SOM high marks for diverse enrollment
The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education recently published its ranking of the Top 25 Medical Schools Enrolling Hispanics.
The TTUHSC School of Medicine ranks No. 12, according to the magazine, which is 11 percent of total students enrolled. At the end of academic year 2007, the TTUHSC School of Medicine enrolled a total of 550 students. Sixty-three of these students were Hispanic. Of those 63 students, 40 were male and 23 were female.
The top five schools of medicine enrolling Hispanics are: the University of Arizona, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, the University of Texas Medical Branch, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
