Faculty Development Lectures

Every other month, a faculty development lecture is scheduled for faculty, residents, medical students, and others. These lectures are designed to give attendees more information about research. These presentations are on topics such as collaboration, the Clinical Research Institute, writing research papers, and others.

June 24, 2016 Research Faculty Development Lecture - Nuts and bolts of CRI, presented by Cathy Lovett. 

August 26, 2016 Research Faculty Development Lecture - How not to kill your collaboration, presented by Drs. Sandeep Dhindsa and Natalia Schlabritz-Lutsevich. 

October 4, 2016 Dr. Petar Grozdanov, Director of Molecular Biology and Image Analysis Core Laboratories at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center presented "Popular Instruments in the Image Analysis and Molecular Biology Core Facilities."

 

November 4, 2016 Dr. Alan Peiris, Vice Chiar of the Department of Internal Medicine and Codirector of the Clinical Research Institute at TTUHSC presented, "How to write a manuscript."

November 18, 2016 Dr. Aruna Chemitiganti presents "Understanding Early Education Process -- An Indian Experience." 

Presentation by Dr. Craig Spellman, "Thrill of Victory, Agony of Defeat: Design your own Clinical Trials - Investigator-initiated studies," presented as part of the Research Course for Faculty Development on February 1, 2017.

Dr. Arpita Vyas presents "Construct Hypothesis (Objective and Specific aims) as part of the Research course for faculty development on February 8, 2017. 

Dr. Eneko Larumbe presents "Analyze Data (statistical analysis)" as part of the Research Course for faculty development at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin on February 15, 2017.

A presentation by Beth Taraban, "Responsible Conduct of Research," as part of the Research Course for Faculty Development at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin on March 8, 2017.

February 13, 2017 Dr. Jannette M. Dufor of the Department of Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock presents "Transplantation of Immune Privileged Sertoli Cells: More Than Just Testifular Nurse Cells."

March 20, 2017 Dr. Carlos Solomon presents  "The potential role of exosomes in obstetrics and gynecology: Focus on pregnancy complications and ovarian cancer. 

March 1, 2017 Dr. Saju Joesph of the Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin presents "Manuscript Writing" as part of the Research Course for faculty development.
