Arun Mathews, M.D. serves as the Hospitalist Program Director for the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Mathews received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2001.He completed his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and his fellowship in Medical Informatics at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Following his fellowship he served as Chair in the Department of Medicine for Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, New Mexico and as a member of the Lea Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees. Mathews currently is a member of the hospitialist group at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and a clinical assistant professor with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of the Permian Basin. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicien and the American Medical Informatics Association.
