Dr. Straus has been at the TTUHSC for 28 years. He received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Loyola University in Chicago in 1974. His current research focuses on Pathogenic Bacteriology and Sick Building Syndrome.

Dr. Sawyer received her doctorate in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 1988. Dr. Sawyer currently teaches Clinical Chemistry, Molecular Diagnostics, Applied Statistics and Research, and graduate level Molecular Cell Biology and Human Neuroscience.

Dr. Escudier began her healthcare career as a paramedic for the City of Galvestion Emergency Medical Services, where she was employed full-time for seven years. She received her M.D. from the Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala, in 1994. Her field of specialized interest is crisis resource management in an effort to create a culture of safety and provide excellent patient care.

Dr. Acton has been with TTUHSC for 10 years. She received her DNP at Case Western Reserve University in 2008. Her current research interests are in leadership, clinical autonomy, and safe patient outcomes.

Dr. Seifert received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1984.  He is currently a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Founding Regional Dean for Lubbock Programs with the School of Pharmacy at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
