CITI web site has changed
The Collaborative IRB Training Initiative (CITI) web site has changed to www.citiprogram.org. CITI is a web-based educational program that is required for all personnel involved in human research approved by a TTUHSC Institutional Review Board (IRB). This training program must be completed prior to conducting any research related activities and renewed every three (3) years thereafter.
Current users of the previous web site have until July 2, 2004 to complete their training on that site. If you are unable to complete it by the deadline, please contact Victoria Rivera or Virginia Smith for assistance. New users (who have not yet begun CITI training) should use the new web sites at www.citiprogram.org. Contact Virginia Smith at (806) 743-2991 for questions.
Automated access to personal IRB research training records
The Human Research Protection Office in collaboration with the iRIS Operations are pleased to announce an automatic streamlined access to each researcher's own IRB training records. Those researchers who have an iRIS account can now view their human subjects research training completion electronically via iRIS. A very special thank you goes to Virginia Smith, Erica Wheatley ( Lubbock campus), and Lorena Medrano ( El Paso campus) for devoting long hours to make this happen!
In order to view your completed training and expiration dates, please login to iRIS, click on My account information and select the Education History tab. Review your training completion under the Recent Course table. (Don't worry about your User Training status/Override Flag above that table.) Note: if you have completed both CITI and NIH trainings, the latter might not be recorded in iRIS as CITI training is most recent and has a further expiration date. Please make sure that the recorded trainings are correct. The new iRIS release (in the Fall) will not allow any submissions to go through unless every person's (listed on the IRB application) research training is complete, as recorded in iRIS. Thus, it is very important to let Virginia.Smith@ttuhsc.edu know if you notice any record discrepancies.
In addition, please make sure that your Primary E-mail address is recorded correctly under the Contact Info tab.
