Division of Clinical Research - Staff
Catherine Lovett, RN, BSN, CCRC, CCRP, is the Director of Clinical Operations for the Division of Clinical Research. Cathy's role in the DCR includes several diverse aspects of clinical research. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, budget negotiations, as well as helping to develop the clinical research infrastructure for TTUHSC and our affiliated hospital. Cathy has been a nurse for over 21 years; the majority of her experience is in the care of the critically ill adult patient. She received her BSN in 1987 from West Texas State University. She is experienced in coordinating Phase I through Phase IV studies. She helped found the DCR after 2 years of coordinating research in the Department of Surgery. Her professional memberships include the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, the Society of Clinical Research Associates, and the American Association of Critical Care nurses.
Pam Frazier, MPA, CCRP, is the Director of Contracting for the Division of Clinical Research. She is responsible for negotiation and execution of all clinical trial agreements and confidentiality agreements in accordance with TTUHSC policies for industry sponsored clinical trials conducted at all TTUHSC campuses. She joined the DCR in May of 2003, prior to that she was a Contract Manager with Lubbock Regional MHMR. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1993 and a Master of Public Administration in 2001 from Texas Tech University. Pam is currently a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates.
MJ Flores, BSOE, is the Regulatory Specialist for the Division of Clinical Research. She is responsible for preparing research regulatory and study documents required for submission to the TTUHSC Institutional Review Board (IRB), as well as study sponsors, and Investigators. MJ also assists with legal document negotiation/review. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 2005 from Wayland Baptist University.
Clinical Research Nurse Coordinators
Susan Doctolero, RN-C, BSN, CCRN, BS, CCRC, is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator. Susan has been a nurse for over 17 years; the majority of her experience is taking care of critically ill patients. She joined the DCR in 2005 and primarily works with in-patient and critical care studies. Susan received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 1986 from Philippine Women's University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1991 from Arellano University. She is currently a member of the Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
Ruth Gard, BS, RN, CCRC, is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator. Ruth received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1972 from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas and went on to serve for more than 6 years in the United States Air Force as an Administrative/Executive Support Officer with the rank of Captain. In 1996, Ruth received her RN from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, in Lubbock, Texas. She has been with the DCR since April 2005 and she has over 12 years of nursing experience primarily in cardiac critical care. Ruth primarily coordinates in-patient and critical care studies. She is currently a member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
Chris Scott-Johnson, RN C, MSN, has been a nurse for over 23 years. The majority of her nursing experience has been in Pediatric Critical Care and emergency nursing. Chris received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Women's University at Houston and her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. She is currently a member of the Emergency Nursing National Chapter and the local Chapter. Chris primarily coordinates out-patient, in-patient and critical care studies.
